Ah Mediumship ! What is it? Tell me more!  

At Two Worlds Spiritualist Centre we have a Demonstration of Mediumship
​as part of our regular service.
Mediumship is central to spiritualism as it helps so many people to see that their loved ones' spirit lives on - and in love they will be re-united.

This can be a tremendously healing gift that frees a person to fully engage in their life here on earth, expand their consciousness and connection to spirit - and possibly to the spirit of their own loved ones in spirit. 

MEDIUMS

Mediums are regular people who have devoted tremendous time, effort and energy to be able to hone their spiritual connection such that they can communicate with the spirits of those who have passed on. One medium who visited us described it as similar to  "receiving a telephone call from outer space". Mediums may  sense the presence of a spirit through any of their senses . This includes  visual, auditory, feeling ( usually through the bodily sensations and emotions the person felt while alive) , and even olfactory - meaning - yes - they sometimes experience familiar smells - like smoke or vanilla - if that was meaningful to the person.  

YES, BUT WHAT IS IT ???

As part of our founding principles we believe in the continuation of life past this mortal existence and physical world - that our spirit continues to exist ( and evolve) past death. Thus Mediumship is quite simply the demonstration of that - and it is done through the Medium connecting to the Spirit of a person who has passed - and bringing a message that lets us know that it REALLY is that person. Mediums will always try and bring some very specific evidence about the person, and it is uncanny sometimes , as the person receiving the message may be the only person aware of that information.

DemoNstrations at Service

Our mediums connect to Spirit during our Service, and usually are able to bring messages to individuals. These are extremely affecting, as there is often a message of reconciliation or appreciation for some thing that may have gone un-said in life. In any case - it is a message always brought with love and can be deeply moving to all who hear it.

What to expect

During a Demonstration of Mediumship,  if the medium comes to you  just answer a simple YES, NO, I DON'T KNOW. It is helpful for the Medium to hear your voice with those answers, but as one of our dear mediums put it - "NO other information required or desired!"
In other words - don't feed the mediums additional  information . Don't withhold information either - for example - if they say "it seems to be a brother figure" it is acceptable to say "yes - my brother-in-law". Otherwise - just take it in as the act of extreme love and kindness it is - to travel and connect in this way is a gift to be received and appreciated by being fully present to everything said.
