Our Beloved "Dr. Paul" was one of the founding members of Two Worlds Centre - back in 2008 . They founded the group and found the location we have been fortunate enough to still meet at today - the masonic hall at 620 Morpeth.
This was a great leap of faith and fortunately Dr. Paul and the other founders found a way to connect and sell the idea of a spiritual centre that was safe for all. Reconciliation and compromise were a couple of Paul's gifts, and meant that we have the centre we have today. Dr. Paul came to his mediumship after a night of the "dark soul" that so many of us encounter. After searching for answers to the meaning of life ( and life after death ) he had a revelation that spirit took a very different form than he had been taught in the Catholic church. He was in his early 20s when he started receiving answers from spirit, and he was so moved that he left the conventional church that had been his spiritual refuse all his life. Eventually Paul followed the guidance of spirit that drew him to Vancouver Island, and along with his partner of 24 years took a huge step into faith to move here. This bold move lead to them creating a loving , welcoming home and a life together here that blossomed. When Paul came to Nanaimo he was following the urge of spirit into the unknown and in doing so he was giving up the career of counseling and support to which he had devoted his life. As an artist he not only created beautiful art while tuning into spirit, he also loved to teach art as a way of connecting to spirit. He continued his big hearted teaching here on Vancouver Island - in all areas of his life. Paul loved to see others develop and trust their mediumship and connection to spirit, and always gave enthusiastic encouragement to everyone in their spiritual journey. Dr. Paul devoted so much of his life and love and energy to this centre, and to helping others develop both their spiritual and artistic abilities. He truly felt that the meaning of life was giving , and his joyful, energetic, loving giving was what buoyed this centre through the years. His services left us moved, enlightened, educated and with laughter in our hearts. He could touch us deeply, take us to new depths of understanding of both the world and spirit, and then have us all dancing , singing and laughing with joy. It is with heavy hearts and much grief that we say goodbye to Paul on this planet. As Spiritualists we know we will see him again, but the reality of losing him in this time & space experience still is so heart rending, and our hearts are especially with his devoted and beloved partner of 20 plus years . |

2016 Paul's Celebration of Life service was held: Saturday April 16, 2016
His Celebration of Life included some very moving tributes, powerful music, and two incredible poems - one by Dr. Paul, and the other by his partner Paul. Everyone was especially affected by the deep love expressed by Paul in his poem written after Dr. Paul's passing. Paul had an extensive collection of Spiritual books which have been valuated by Walter Meyer.
